Operational Excellence at Tessenderlo Chemie Ham

Tessenderlo Group is a industrial group that focuses on agriculture, valorizing bio-residuals and providing industrial solutions. Tessenderlo Chemie Ham (now Tessenderlo Kerley Ham) is part of the Agro segment, which combines the Group’s activities in the production, trading and marketing of crop nutrients and crop protection products.

Assignment

PDM was assigned to implement part of the Operational Excellence program at Tessenderlo Chemie Ham in 2016.

Activities

PDM supported the identification of processes and the rollout of part of the program. Therefore PDM executed:

  • AS IS and TO BE workshops to set up the future process
  • Set up of mission, vision, and strategy of maintenance
  • Assistance in drawing up planning, resources estimations, and templates
  • Implementation of those processes, including IT tools, instructions, and manuals
  • Training and guidance on the shop floor
  • Set up and implementation of management control and reporting system (meeting TORs and audits, KPIs, factory meeting calendar).

Results

The result was a collection of clear and structured reports, flows, and instructions to support the plant with the current and future development.
