History

PDM originated in the Dutch company Project Development and Management, which was established in 1971. The founder, Piet Mesterom, was a specialist in re-engineering, improving and maintaining existing production plants. Clients were Dutch, Belgian and German companies located within 100 km of Maastricht.

At the beginning of the 1980s, the company now called PDM developed into a substantial, multidisciplinary organisation. As well as engineering and project management, the company also applied itself to maintenance engineering, shutdown preparation, and consulting activities in the field of maintenance, planning and cost management.

In the early 1990s, PDM decided to incorporate its profitable maintenance and shutdown activities in an engineering bureau. A start was also made on developing value-added services for clients, which were to continue as consulting activities. From the end of the 1990s PDM grew vigorously, and its market extended into the Benelux and the German Ruhr area. What has made PDM’s engineering bureau and consultancy activities so successful is that their integrated package of services covers all the main needs of their clients in its area of specialisation.

In 2009, we repositioned as a single company with one brand supported by one vision, that of Industrial Excellence. Our services have been redesigned offering a more integrated set of services and competencies to help customers excel in their industrial operations. We also expanded our global presence to Eastern-Europe, France and the Middle East to better serve our international clientele.
