Process-based approach - EON
In order for the organisation to work more effectively in accordance with industrial standards, a process-based approach was required for E.ON's coal-fired power plant on the Maasvlakte industrial site. Having been implemented in all factories, what started out as a project at Maasvlakte has now evolved into a continuous process within the worldwide E.ON-organisation. Management focuses on continuous implementation, striving to achieve an even higher level of quality by increasing the reliability of the systems and reducing the costs of downtime. To achieve this, PDM started by mapping out the status of the 3 main processes: ‘Ordering’, ‘Daily Maintenance’, and ‘Trouble Analysis’ at the coal-fired power station at Maasvlakte. Once an inventory of the existing approach had been made, the ideal situation was defined for each process. Following this the implementation commenced.
